About Raina

Stories that make room for becoming.

Raina Shepard writes with tenderness for people learning to understand themselves, care for one another, and begin again.

The through-line

Every reader deserves to feel seen.

Some of Raina’s books are emotionally deep stories about survival, identity, relationships, grief, and spiritual searching. Others are gentle children’s books about feelings, friendship, safety, courage, and self-worth.

Those worlds meet in the same belief: a story can comfort us, give us language, and help us understand what we could not yet say out loud.

Raina writes for the child learning emotions, the parent trying to guide them, the adult healing quietly, and anyone who wants honest company for a hard road.

For adults

Honest company for hard roads.

The adult work moves through codependency, trauma, loneliness, toxic relationships, identity, recovery, and spiritual transformation. It looks directly at what people survive while keeping a light on for what they can become.

For children

A softer language for big feelings.

The children’s stories help young readers understand that feelings are normal, kindness matters, and difficult emotions do not make them bad or broken. They give caregivers a natural way to start conversations that can be hard to begin.

A note from Raina

“Sometimes a book becomes more than a book. Sometimes it becomes a companion through survival.”
